What should i know about shore excursions?

Now that you have booked your cruise, there are so many fun things to consider! Or maybe you just found this page and are browsing ideas. One of the many reasons to pick a cruise is its sea and port days itinerary. While every person has a different taste, we wanted to ensure you had options for your upcoming cruise. Some people like taking organized excursions, and others prefer to explore independently. For those looking for organized tours, there are many different options available.  You can purchase them directly through the cruise line, and I also have a few additional options for you. Please note that shore excursions are popular, and I heavily recommend you purchase the ones you want in advance. This helps ensure you lock them in before they sell out. You may also see emails directly from Shore Excursions Group for your cruise! If you need excursions for 15+ people, we can usually get group rates and encourage you to reach out. 

Booking directly with the cruise line

Each cruise line has excursions you can book through your online cruise portal with them.  Some itineraries include stops at a cruise line’s private island (MSC Ocean Cay, Carnival’s Half Moon Cay/Princess Cays, Disney’s Castaway Cay, Royal Caribbean’s Cococay, and Labadee). In that case, you can only buy excursions directly with them for that port. Some allow you to rent cabanas and more! 

Another time you may want to buy direct is if you have an Alaskan cruise that visits a glacier. Often, an excursion exists where you get off the ship onto another small boat and go closer. You can’t buy these specific excursions elsewhere and should buy direct if you want to do this.
